Subject:      Door air vent was taped over?

Folks,

While repairing the power window regulator in the passenger side door, I
found that the lower corner vent had been taped over.  Just blocked off
under the plastic grille.

Why would a previous owner have done this?  Perhaps this would channel more
air to the rear vents on both sides in the ceiling?  Or would it cause more
air flow in the front 2 vents on the sides of the dashboard?
