is it a 1.9 or 2.1 ? Oct 85 would likely be an 86 model with 2.1 engine.

if it's a 1.9 ..there are two styles of throttle switches, the early style with the two switches right there, very obvious, right on top. later 1.9's have the 2.1 style switch .. which is on the bottom of the throttle body, somewhat hidden, and there is a wire with a two contact connector that the ecu harness plugs into.

and speaking of Throttle Switches .. this customer has send a big engine installation and syncro rescue project to me, and in the stuff for it is a vastly improved throttle switch device.

'a sensitive electronic absolute-pressure sensor and control circuit."

senses vacuum, is powered by 12 volts, has a vacuum nose that sense throttle plate position, claims to be extremely superior to the mechanical throttle switches and I believe it.

it's from vanagonperformance.com called "Electronic Throttle Switch" "VAC2" and even has a serial number on the unit.

I want one. didn't find it listed on a site yet though.
