One of the best/most interesting adaptations I've seen for jacking points
on a vanagon, so a "bumper jack" could be used, was a pipe welded to
a flat plate of steel and reinforced so it would support the van. Slid into
the stock jacking point on the van, and the jack just used the bottom of
the steel plate as the jacking "perch". Worked too. One improved "mod"
for it was adding another adapter that allowed the adapter to be use on
the ends of the van at the 2" hitch receivers, especially for offroad
situations.
