Well I will hunt down the shim tomorrow. As for the bearing seat....it is what it is....hope I don't get shafted. In the end however....there is some kind of peace that comes over one lieing on your back for hours, in the cool shade, staring at end of a boxer engine - wondering what next?

If one really needs this part (I don't believe I have one, but am not sure) how can it be that you cannot buy it? Seems to be a bit of a disconnect there.

If our vans need purple widgets to get down the road, somebody is gonna make a killing selling them.
