dear spot light

there are many taxis and delivery vehicles with spot light attached to help address search ... Hat removed to talk through ... opinion commenced ... some fact mixed with some opinion mixed with some experiance

those who mount lights on their vehicle which are aftermarket or designed to enhance the vehicle like ground effects lights under neath ..or behind the grill lights or dash LED which stay on during vehicle use and cause a reflection on the window inside and distract the driver or cause inability to see ... That sort of stuff is both a heat sink and a safety hazard ... usually against the rules in almost any place ... enforcement may very ...

then there is the dressed up like an emergency vehicle when in fact you are not ... that could be a heat sink too if you go around making a nuisance of your self ...

what often happens is there is an omnibus clause in in which the enforcement person on the scene is allowed to use thier own discretion when applying the law to the situation ... the law may read ... (made up stuff following) No vehicle shall have any attachment which in the opinion of the attending officer ... would allow the vehicle to be mistaken as an emergency vehicle in a situation where a person in need may mistakenly approach the vehicle ... enforcement may very ...

lets just say if you had a newer Crown Victoria with a spot light attached you may well find yourself being stopped from time to time ...

the likely hood of a westie being jacked up for immitating an emergency vehicle in north america are slim however if you are the sort who likes to do stuff that is marginally close to doing offenses you could be pulled over for ... an after market light may increase the amount of stuff you are written up for .. like dark window coverings on all windows but the windows but the front one ...

my suggestion would be drop around to speak to your local sheriff or law enforcement office and ask the officer on duty if there is any law prohibiting you from mounting an Exterior Light to assist in camp set up and such things like that ...

good luck yours
