Around here, everything comes from one of the same refineries, though BP
does have one of their own (but everyone else gets some of their fuel there,
as well). Since each "brand" get's their fuel from the same place, it
doesn't matter where you buy it. By then, it's pretty difficult to tell
whether it came from a BP oil derrick or someone else's. So, I just buy from
the one who has the cheapest price. Often that's Arco, though occasionally
it'll be Shell.
I do know that whatever Chevron does to their fuel after they get it from
the refinery, plays havoc on my vehicles, so I avoid it.
And I usually use the lowest grade - 87. Once in a while if I put in some
fuel additive or injector cleaner, I'll use mid-grade. I rarely use the high
grade. I don't see a point - it doesn't make a difference in the way my van
or cars run.
Be blessed,
~Annie
