nice to read about the syncro rear springs and GW front springs.
just in case anyone would like to do something similar,
I have a set of 85 Westy front springs ..
these are the 'too tall' springs that all 85 Weekenders and Westy's have.
They're about 2 inches too tall.
I just removed 'em ..
they're not rusted or anything weird , and they are for sale.
located in Southern Oregon, $ 80 for the pair plus shipping and a few bucks
for paypal if we them, and I try to squeeze the final total down a bit.

I bought the gowesty 2wd lift springs but I did my research before hand and
came to the conclusion that stock syncro rear springs are tougher and will
not sag over time like the gowesty springs. So my rear is sitting on stock
syncro rear springs and the gowesty front springs. I also put a much heaver
duty shock in the rear (Monroe) and the bilsteen in the front with the ball
joint spacers to keep the correct geometry. I have a 1/2" spacer on the
driver side rear. Been over a year now and the ride is awesome and it
handles so good. I was able to sell my gowesty rear springs on the samba in
1 day. I wish gowesty would break up the set (ft and rear). Good luck......

Those springs will not adjust a variance for very long. I have the
Syncro.org
spring experience but they "adjusted" to return to driver-side droop of 1/2"
after
a year or so. Just the weight of me and the cabinets over time. Very easy to
add one on the psgr side if you choose to later. You won't be sorry you put
it
in the driver side now. I also added Pro Comp MX6 adjustable shocks and I
think they made more 'difference' in ride/stability than the springs.
