A little late here to comment as I was occupied with BusFusion, see other thread. This leaking problem I addressed by putting a piece of Gorilla tape between the awning case and the rain gutter from underneath, works perfectly and the tape has been there for about a year, must be Gorilla tape. I ALSO had a long talk with Wolfgang over there at Shadyboy about this problem and asked if he could not come up with a more elegant solution like a rubber flap that is pemantely attached to the Shadyboys for Vanagon use. ALSO, the one other problem, the fact that when the sliding door is open any water running off the awning towards the back runs down the inside of the sliding door and wrecks havoc with the lovely cardboard door panel material. So he is looking into solving that problem as well like an extension from the awning over to the drip rail. Wolfgang was very thankful for the comments and suggestions.

>>>>>I'd like to thank whoever wrote about using foam pipe insulation to plug the gap between the Westy roof and the Shady Boy awning. I bought a hank of the insulation sized for 1/2'' pipe and mooshed it into the gap on a rainy day last week. While not 100% effective, it's a big improvement over the constant drip of rain that has in the past prevented me from sitting in my favorite doorway (sliding door) when camping.

Ideas like this keep making the Westy camping experience better and better for me.<<<<<
