Dave, that's exactly where I mean. So the drivers door vent would do nothing on a Westy?! I think I don't care about those rear vents and door vents, so it's block off time for me!

By "vents in the bottom of the doors" I presume you mean vents in the door frame that match up with the hollow anti-collision beam. This entire system is to feed the two overhead fresh-air vents on each side in the passenger compartment. On Westys the left-side one is blocked off because the overhead shelf on that side is where the vents would be.
