They are crooks. They want to use the ebay website, take advantage of the exposure ebay gives them, and use ebay as an advertising agent, but they don't want to pay for those services. Sorry, that's theft. If they are willing to lie, cheat and steal from ebay, what in the world makes anyone think they won't do the exact same thing to someone buying something from them. If you don't like ebay, fine, don't use them. But don't use them and then try to duck out on paying them, or bad mouth them about their fees. No one is forced to use ebay, it is entirely voluntary. People use it because it gets them great exposure world wide and that helps sell stuff. In other words it has an intrinsic value to someone trying to sell something. You sign an agreement when you list something through them for sale, and you have no right or justification for then trying to not honor that agreement once you've reaped the benefits of their service. Ebay strictly forbids this particular practice for this exact reason Anyone using ebay to list things for sale, and then trying to sell the item to someone outside of ebay, so as to avoid the fees, is a crook and has no honor or integrity. They are also breaking the law (theft of services) and their contract with ebay. Yeah, that sounds like someone I want to do business with....not. > On Monday, June 21, 2010, BenT Syncro<syncro@gmail.com> wrote: > >> How do you guys feel about vendors you find on eBay who insist on >> completing deals outside of eBay? >> >> I was shopping for a rear engine carrier for my 84 Subie powered van. >> Found the listings from Small Car Performance but did not see the 2wd >> mount.
