Trip of a lifetime is an understatement!!!
Get a GPS with Euro Maps, makes a big difference.

This guy who you are selling your van to, sure has some cool Vanagons, and
wish they were in the US... wow, some of these would surely turn heads at
the bus camp-outs!
Have a great trip!!!

Folks: We are in the final throws of packing for another "Trip of a
Lifetime". Sunday (27 June 2010), we plan to drive the van from Rabat north
to Tangier (Morocco). On the 28th we have tickets for a ferry eastward
across the Mediterranean to Genoa (Italy) (2 or 3 day trip). Then more
ferries south as we drive our camper-van through Corsica, Sardinia, &
Sicily. We them plan to take a ferry over to the Boot of Italy and work our
way back north. Not so sure how far we'll get as I, being retired, have no
temporal restraints, but my wife (Jamila) has to be back in Rabat for Sept
1. She may either fly back from Rome, or we will drive on to Belgium where
I plan to leave the van (1989 Dehler Syncro 16) to be sold by Mike Plompen
(busman.be), and then Jamila and I will both fly back to Rabat.
We use Lonely Planet & Michelin maps to plan our trips, which include a
mixture of geological/archaeological sites, world heritage sites, museums,
art galleries, cathedrals, lovely 'gardens' on old estates, and some
plane-old pretty villages. If Jamila has her way, there will be a few
beautiful white sandy beaches too!
This will be our first trip to Corsica, Sardinia, & Sicily. July and August
are the worst times to visit anywhere in Europe, but we are 'forced' to go
this time of year as it's Jamila's holiday time (along with 25 million
others).
So let's hope that the vanagon gods will be willing to help this be an
indecent free trip. Lots of photos when I return. Malcolm & Jamila
