above the tank on the LH side and  there is no access unless you drop the
tank.  This connection is usually  corroded as all the grounding terminals are
on the vans these days.   Remember the fuel sender is a variable resistance
type sender so more  resistance ~ corrosion = more resistance so lower level
readings.
