Subject: Dometic Exhaust & Intake O Ring Positioning?
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1

Hi all.

Just making sure. For the Dometic 182A or B.

When the pipes and key are installed in manifold, pic (Ignore arrows): http://tinyurl.com/382hfyq

should the O rings butt up against the shoulder in manifold? If so, does this help them seal better?

Clicking to next pic shows how I determined which groove O ring should seat in.

IIRC, installing O ring one groove further away from manifold made it seal poorly. Seemed to seal fine the way I did it and am just making sure it's the right way in case anyone should ask.

If a small gap ends up between end of pipe and bottom of manifold, is this ok?

Sorry if this has been covered, but it seems like somewhat arcane stuff and would take some time to find in the archives.

Thanks!

Neil.
