I sure would like a pair of those Recaro seats, but I'm cheap and reluctant to part with that much money all at once unless it's *really* necessary.  I called up SewFine yesterday and priced out new seat foam and covers for about $770 for the pair in the front including headrests and arm covers.

I guess you can't order the lower seat foam if you don't get the cover, and there is variance in the cost of the seat covers depending on fabric , etc.  The top end is $300 on that so the covers aren't that bad price wise, or at least in comparison.  Then you end up doing the labor of covering the seat once you get the kit, which from what I gather is about a weekend's worth of labor.

Okay, I'm familiar with the Recaro seats offered by GoWesty.  Big ticket item at about $1,400 each.
So, what other similar seats, but at better price (like cheap!) are available? New? From other vehicles? Direct fit? Easily adaptable?
