We love our Weekender and specifically looked for one when we started Westy/Vanagon shopping. We had a 71 Westy that was pre-stove but did have an sink/icebox behind the front passenger seat. We would sometimes take it out (once lost the cap to the water tank and one winter a mouse went down inside and of course could not get out. That van really stunk until the rodent carcass was discovered) and use the van.

When we saw the Vanagon/Weekender interior arrangement we knew that was what we wanted.

Good tip, Scott about removing that dad-blamed latch on the rear seat. I'm always futzing with it when having my hands full of stuff... I have a kind of phobia about removing anything that the Original German Engineers deemed the vehicle needed. Probably because then I have to put the removed part away somewhere and keep track of it.
