Hi Jeff,

In short: Yes. Some people can put blinders on and just continually pour fluids in as needed.

If I were in your shoes I would try a bottle of Subie-goo (Subaru Coolant Treatment, AKA Rad-weld) followed by a coolant system pressure test... Then you'll know what you are up against.

You could do the pressure test first if you don't want to risk $40 on the treatment.... if it passes you don't need the goo.
