Now, you see, this is why I love this list and Vanagon owners! Craziness like this. When I read this to my wife she laughed, but changed it to "When a Vanagon finds a new home, another divorce happens" Jeff

Well. right or wrong, its mine now. Good news is it made it 50+ miles home without any issues. About 19 miles into the drive home, the temp gauge finally rose to just below the LED. It stayed there for about 30 seconds then it dropped all the way down to the bottom where it stayed the rest of the way home. I just took it out to the store and it didn't budge from the bottom. Deja vu-my last '84 did this very same thing, and it wasn't the resistor, the gauge, sending unit, etc. I never did figure out what it was. Tomorrow I start replacing vacuum lines, cleaning grounds, etc.Two questions: did weekenders come with a big ugly a** Dometic fridge that bolted to the floor behind the passenger seat? It looks like a big window unit air conditioner and it's gonna be gone, I hate it. Seller said it doesn't work anyway. Also, I know I can find this info easily enough, but I'm sure someone knows it off the top of their head: '85 Wolfsburg Edition Weekender whats the paint name/code? It's kind of a silvery brown (which believe it or not my wife likes!) TIA, Jeff > > > Jeff Stewart > >
