On the topic of propane filling, I now get in the habit of bringing along a large moving pad, which I lay out for the attendant to knee or sometimes lay on. They usually cuss anyway, and that's where tipping goes a long way too! I do have one of the new Terry Kay fill valves and see he now sells an extender to help with the filling process, but still doesn't help with the overflow (bleeder) valve. I think that the "extend a stay" is a wonderful invention and try to use external propane tanks whenever possible. With a furnace, the propane goes fast. I can definitely see the merits of doing away with the propane tank altogether and using an external one, but the "extend a stay" is the next best thing. Those auto stop valves are a hazard! I say replace that sucker as soon as possible. I understand they are even illegal in some states. Troy |
