Todd & friends, Don't know if you have fully diagnosed the sudden death issue yet, but what comes to mind is the little plastic portion of the ignition switch.  It is a $10 part that often fails on our vans.  If the contact arcs off and on it can cause the engine to cut out.  Wiggle the crap out of the wiring harness at the ignition switch to make sure all contacts are A-OK and then move on to other technical and expensive issues, like the brain.  If the engine is running and stops when you wiggle the harness then this is a pretty good give away.   Ask me how I found out about a bad switch at 70 mph with trucks to left and trucks to right and trucks behind me.   Good luck. So I thought I would through his message up to the experts on the Vanagon list to see if any of you have any thoughts. If i let it set and cool for 10 minutes it will run a little longer. if i let it sit over night it will go about 3 to 4 miles until it gets warm then dies again. i checked fuel pressure and it was 35 to 40 psi when running, I changed the temp sensor that goes to the computer and this made no change. any thoughts or opinions on where i should look next would be greatly appreciated. thanks in advance. Darren vr6vanagon@hotmail.com
