I have a few sets here of some "new old stock" you can have for a very modest price.  Please contact me off list at david at hasenwerk dot ca

These holes are not for driving lights, rather they are for the 5W park lights (GE 1318 bulb) as European signal markers only come on when you are signaling as they have only a single filament bulb.

During the day you will not see the park lights on from very much of a distance and by no means would you be able to see much farther than a few meters at night.  LEDs are brighter and this may work at as DTRL, but by no means will you see where you are going with them at night.
