the cranks are different between 1.9 and 2.1 since the only real difference is stroke... they both take the same pistons and barrels.. it's the longer stroke that makes it a 2.1 on bare cranks ....don't know if there's a part # or ...could measure stoke .. on the whole engine ..very easy to tell 1.9 from 2.1. Nice upgrade radiator-wise is the 83 and later plastic tanks with aluminum fins waterboxer style.. they remove heat better than the metal 82 diesel vanagon radiators .. and is used in the 83 5 speed diesel vanagon.....and they weigh a lot less too, than the 82 DV metal radiator. It's a common upgrade.
