might have alrady figured this out .. but there's a Neutral Safety switch showing on page 97.147 ( in my up to 85 Bentley anyway ) for 1986 to 89. just use that diagram figuring out what you need to at Neutral safety switch for your 84.

the switch is under the auto trans shift lever. to take that apart you start with a small allen screw near the top of the shif lever I believe.
