bronze is not self lubricating, oil impregnated bronze, as in Oilite, is though.

you can get plain bearings/bushing in that material in a range of sizes, nd of course can be machined for final fit.

I saw a post of yours in archives musing over the thought of using a bearing in that hole. That would totally rock. I imagine there's not enough metal there to install a roller type bearing. Obviously Bronze would be easier to install. Didn't know it was self lubing. Such a PITA part to get to and repair. I wonder how long the Bronze bushing would last? Still, I like your idea. Wish I had a lathe. But maybe a drill press and some filing would do to make the Bronze part.
