lol. well... re "Not a chance. People just want what they want, and there is no chance in hell that they will wise up."

there you go ... and I'm afeared you might be right.

hey ...that is what they teach in this culture, me me me ..what I want, what I want, what I want.

and ...the other main thing they teach in this culture is.......... if oppossed by anyone in any way, the proper and correct reaction is immeidate hostility and agression.

like when I said something to my truck driving neighbors about sitting there , big diesel engine idling, noisly...talking on the cell phone for like half an hour, about 80 feet from me ... I said something ..and what I get back ... nothing like 'oh, sorry, didn't realize' .. no... the normal american reaction is immediate hositlity and agression. The guy was practically livid that I dare ask him to shut off the engine, or park somewhere else to do his phone conversation while his diesel engine pollutes and noisily idles away very close to me.

not a culture I am proud of really. I fell out of my chair laughing once... after 9/11 someone said this country was founded on freedom... no it wasn't ! it was founded on greed and exlpoitation .. and about 'all are creaed equal'....yes, 'all are equal' ..if you're a white male, back then. We have come a long way .. but giving the killing and violence and the destruction of the planet .. we're not even 10 % of the way to where we need to be.

yeah, I don't think it's going to make much of a dent in awareness about what 'the economy' costs the planet . 'fraid you are probably right there, but I hope not.
