Note to self : always keep an old set of plug wires! Miguel

Cleaning stuff up and getting it ready to take to fireworks tonight. I decide to have a look at the distributor cap and rotor, hmmm. pretty much toast. About 1:00 I head out for a motorcycle ride and stop by an Auto Zone and pick up a new cap and rotor. Get home, think this will take about a minute-'til I go to pull #1 wire out of the old cap-it disintegrates in my hand right above the boot. Nothing but greenish powder. Now I'm screwed, where am I going to get a new plug wire now? Do some thinking, and pull #1 wire off my '74 Super Beetle. I know, I know, wrong connector at the cap, but this thing had been running on 3 cylinders anyway. Driving it home last weekend I had no problem cruising at 65, with only a slight vibration. it's only 15 miles to the fireworks, so I don't think we'll have any issues getting there and back!
