Hey, Mr. Squirrel:  JB Weld works wonders on plastic caps.  I actually
backed over mine (popped out of the side of the tire) and cracked it.
Stupidly set it on driveway while draining tank. JB welded crack - no
leak.  That was 3 summers ago.
