The issue is not that I didn't follow proper proceedure. I even checked upon references of past buyers from this guy.... he checks out fine. I have no issue with buying the car. The car is being purchased just fine.

I spent a great deal of time calling the DMV ahead of time to see if there were any liens, or issues with potential titling down the road.... both times I had them run the VIN number, it came up clear. So I got a Carfax account... it came up with "clean title". Boy was I surprised today when I called the DMV again and just out of curiousity asked to run the VIN to find some interesting problems which we won't go into untill the car is safely on a trailer home, and my concerns go towards getting a title. Long story short, at some point the DMV told me "You won't be able to title this car. Ever."

So.... I did my homework. I really truely did. And it still could work out poorly.

I officially finish the buying process tomorrow and have a shipper lined up.
