Yes, I did start at 58.11. The description there then leads to procedure "C" on 58.15. What was not exactly clear is how loosening the hinge would allow for height adjustment. Well, it doesn't. Loosening the hinge is for the gap adjustment. What I just discovered by accident is if you loosen the striker plate pin, the whole thing moves up and down, and that I believe adjusts the height as well as the flushness (is that a word?) of the sliding door relative to the body. I think! Now I understand why they say to measure, as when you loosen the pin the whole thing flops around in the breeze. The Bentley is not always very clear on things, so that's why I find it best to ask if anyone's actually done certain procedures. Usually, then there's something that clicks and you then you understand. I'll report back after torturing myself a bit! Learning a bunch at the moment. I'm also wondering if it was customary to have panel clips in the center of the large panel? Mine has none, as is bowed so badly that it actually scrapes on the fender well and is removing paint. Me thinks it's time to replace that panel before I lose any more paint off the van and start rusting things! I'm going to post this to the list as well, as who knows if somebody else may benefit from reading this.
