Subject: door rattle
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1

I have a rattle in my passenger door that I can't track down. Sometimes on the highway, and more often on rough roads, there is a rattle/vibration. It certainly seems to come from the door latch area. If I press hard on the door at the back or corner, it stops.

I removed the interior panel and inspected and decided it was the wire rod 'twixt the interior handle/lever and the door latching mechanism at the rear of the door. A fat roll of foam seemed like the thing.

Back on the road and the rattle is still there. I have the door opened up now and am stumped. Maybe something in the actual mechanism that latches the door? Of course, I can't make anything sound like the rattle by banging on the door.

It does not appear to be anything to do with the glass or window crank mechanism.

Has anyone dealt with this or a similar problem?

Richard
