kind of a guess on the fed requirement for the OXS.. that was about when many cars started having oxygen sensors .. that counter system was common on VW's at the time... mabye I was just guessing too wildly there saying having that warning was an actual federal requirement .. but how about this one ../........ that little diagram next to the heater controls.... that shows all levers right and fan on # 2 for defrost. . that IS a fedeeral requirement, that that discription and diagram there. so why do you think candian model sycnro's don't have the warning light ?
