that's the oil weight I like ...15W40.

some diesel oils may still have zinc in them. you can also buy zinc additive.

an engine rebuilder who's waterboxer engine I have .. said to break it in on 10W40 and some motorcycle oils that are only SL rated still have zinc in them.

I did find some SL rated 10W40 and using it for a break-in oil. so yes...diesel oil may still have zinc in it.

good idea on the goggle it about ZNDP and flat tappets.

the reason most modern engines have roller cam followers is to reduce friction due to the zinc being taken out of modern oils.

I just got a rebuilt engine (2.0 L AFC) and was told to use diesel oil (15W-40?) because it has zinc in it. My builder also said from time to time use Kendall Racing oil too.

So questions is what oil do your guys use or is suggested.
