Go on The Samba list site, click up the Vanagon parts Classifieds section and be prepared to scroll a lot. They are available at times. I think I revisited the listings there a few times before one came up..

I can now enter and leave our place when the horses are out without turning off my motor, putting my van in gear and sticking a block under the wheel while I open the gate...and repeat to close it after I pass through.. I can also park in hilly towns without finding a curb to 'crimp my wheels" against or again using my patented "vanagon rock" parking brake.

The old handle style boot will not work with the new style handle. The new style 'boot' is also needed. The swap is simple..for the handle...haven't got a boot on mine yet.
