After much procrastination about selling my 86 Syncro Westy and ignoring the rust bubbles blistering out from under window frames and quarter panels...I've just sent my van off to be restored.

If I lived in Montreal I would have happily taken her to Ben (if he would want the job). But I live in the wrong City and in the wrong Province far from Ben and where no one really knows of a good restoration place for Vanagons - well not lately.

Anyway I found a place on the internet - I won't name names yet but the bottom line is the van is in the shop and will begin the rust removal and panel replacement later this week.

Here are some pictures of the van I took during this past winter.

I'll keep you all posted...not really the right time to have her in the shop given it is the summer...but the opportunity arose with a car provided by work to shuttle me back & forth while the van was off the road.

BT
