Subject: MSW Type 15 16" wheels question
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1

Anyone have these wheels? MSW Type 15 16x6.5 ET38, fitment for a 2001 Merc C240

This youtube video shows a Vanagon with a test fitting, and some comments:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=noi6bQeZyaw

"Test fit of new 16x6.5 MSW Type 15 wheels on a 2wd '84 Vanagon Westfalia. These wheels were originally intended for fitment on several large M-B and Audi sedans, some of which have curb weights north of two tons, so their load rating is adequate for the Vanagon assuming we don't load it down to the GVWR.

We still need new, longer studs (rear) and lug bolts (front) with conical seats all around. The stock steel wheels use the spherical seats and I'm only getting about 3.5 turns on the front bolts and 4.5 turns on the rear nuts. Again, this was only a test fit. The vehicle will not be driven on the new wheels until I have the proper hardware."

I've tried contacting the poster "calamityjesus" with no luck so far. Interested in hearing from anyone with direct experience with these on 2wd Vanagons - I just ordered some...

Thanks
