Subject: Valuing Our Rigs. Hail Damage
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1"

Hey Folks,

My 84 Westy was recently victim to a hail storm and suffered some damage on most of the panels except the tail gate. Of course the estimate for fixing the dents around the panels and repainting, since piantless dent repair was not recommended on the fix, the cost is close to what the NADA or Bluebook value my year and model. The insurance company will no doubt total it at this price.

My question is......Has anyone ever tried to re-value their van with an insurance company or banking institute? This van is in great original shape (107500 original miles) and I want to get it fixed back to that as much as possible. It surely has to be worth more than 4K. Am I being unreasonable due to emotions?

Any comments welcome.

Thanks all,
