All Marshall Brass 290s are two-stage, it's a major defining characteristic.

:-) d ps -- Larry Alofs pointed out to me that the state of the art in capacitor manufacture has gotten to the point where a capacitor to do what you were talking about with the delayed-off light would only be the size of say a quart thermos, and you can buy one today for perhaps $60. Still completely impractical for that usage, but a far cry from filling the front seat. I am gobsmacked -- one-farad five-volt capacitors that are about two inches by 3/4. If you'd told someone that in 1965, say, you'd have been laughed out of town.
