Tighter is better with these. If it's loose at all you can get some
gaps when you lace it up.
The BX size is not listed as fitting the Vanagon with manual
steering. I know gowesty has a listing for this, but it's a custom
size.
Do you know if your steering wheel is the same as the early Vanagon
without power?
