Ry, check the resistance of the disconnected sender.  Also see what
the gauge does when the sender's disconnected.  If it pegs, other VDO
owners can determine if that's normal (it might be).


My suspicion is that you burned out the resistance element in the
sender, and that you'll find open circuit there.
