Oddly enough, happened to stop at the first RV shop I saw moments after sending the note, and got a Marshall 290 for $20. Unfortunately the vent points up, which I know is wrong. The guy at the shop suggested I try to mount it with the adjustment/etc facing the tank to make the vent point down, (twisted backwards) but there isn't the clearance against the tank. Ah well.... Will make a cover for it or will try to find one that vents down at some point. Was an easy install - made easier because I did it in a parking lot where I could buy the tools for cutting and flaring the copper lines - which I did need to do.

Great though having one that works for now at least, even if it is kind of wrong. Noting now that my old one never let enough gas through it seems. Fridge works great, and I can cook a bit faster - and no constant venting outside at the regulator which is what inspired me to change the reg in the first place...

Also have been doing the standard Vanagon thing of looking at details on others I see along the road or parked or whatever, and have seen none with the "correct" pointing of the vent downwards... Ah well...

-Neil (in Minneapolis now, all is well - but just noted some leaking trans/diff oil... but not much Hmm....)
