any brake shop 'should' be able to turn vanagon rear drums properly.

they will measure the inside diameter to see if they can be turned again. the max permissible diameter is written right on the outside of the drum.

if I had a choice between good turned, original german drums. or turned-and-now-true new elcheopo's from an aisan coutry, I'd go with the turned german ones.
