I wondered about that, as the metal is very thin there, but I thought the wheel clamping it to the hub would take care of things. I imagine warpage here could wreak havoc with the lathe though? Still not sure I want to try machining these crappy things, so I've contacted AutohausAZ about a return.

Bearings are ok, and the problem goes away with the old drums back on...
