I repaired my own plastic coolant tubes using an idea gleaned from The List many years ago.

I heated up the pipe until I could tap the metal insert back in and then pop riveted it in a couple of spots. The rubber hose and clamps go on the far side of the rivets, so no problems with leaks.

I went ahead and did all four ends, even though only two were puking the inserts at the time of my Subaru transplant.
