Subject: Fuel Line Leaking Bigtime
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=US-ASCII; format=flowed; delsp=yes
Wondering if anyone has had to replace the hard plastic fuel line that
runs from the fuel filter to the rubber fuel line that attaches to
plastic fitting at the firewall. I was sure my plastic fitting was
leaking but turns out that part was ok. I did replace the fuel line
going from that fitting to the engine and from the hard plastic line
to the plastic firewall fitting. I also replaced the plastic fitting
with a metal one. When I tried starting the van gas started dripping
copiously near the right rear tire. After examining that area it
looks to me like the hard plastic fuel line may of been abraded by
something because I found a rough stop. Pretty concerned about this
because the gas was spraying onto some kind of insulation in the body
which is not saturated with gas. I am letting the whole thing dry out
so I can figure out how to replace this hard plastic fuel line. I
dont really see this part on EKTA and even if I did is it even
available? Anyone have problem with this hard plastic fuel line and
what did you replace it with? Is it 7mm ID like the fuel line in the
engine compartment?
