One positive of not having installed a stereo(yet) into my vanagon is that I can hear all the noises. This morning I noticed a ticking noise that comes form the speedometer. Could be the cable too. My tripometer, odometer AND speedometer all work fine(the speedo bounces a little bit at speeds below 30. My request for advice is: What should I use to lubricate the speedo cable to see if that is the source of the ticking noise(and maybe that lower speed bounciness)? I was thinking wd-40(thats what I used to loosen up the heater control cables on the dash and they work super now) but if it has some dry lubricant in there I don't want to make a gummy slurry of stuff, anyone with suggestion on what to go buy at my FLAPS in particular.... thanks, -Ry http://www.google.com/profiles/rylincoln |
