Subject:      embarrassingly dumb coolant question

I should know this after 17 years of van ownership, but it escapes me ...

Lately when i turn off the van i hear a gurgle of coolant in the rad at the front.  Temp gauge seems to be functioning normally. I don't recall hearing this before or did I just tune it out?  Is it normal or do i have a problem (air bubble etc)?
