To be more specific I was thinking you could offer some of the designs
you've already made and give a price for them so as to give yourself a
"product line", so to speak. You could do some research on the kinds of
things that folks wished they had or had gone to the trouble to make
themselves and take suggestions and so on; maybe improve on existing generic
designs. If you did in fact get yourself some traction (if I were you) I'd
offer up my wares in the appropriate area of the Samba, maybe do an online
storefront etc. None of that is too difficult and you might establish a nice
little business doing what you do best and helping other folks out in the
process.
Cya,
Robert

Hey all, Robert pm-ed me this suggestion and I'll toss it out there...
I am a skilled carpenter, shipwright, furniture maker, yacht rigger,
etc. Located in the Northwest US. Anyone wanting a 'special something'
made for their special Vanagon could certainly contact me for an estimate.
I do not work cheap but I do the highest quality work at a reasonable rate.
My specialty when I worked in the boatyard was yacht interiors and lots of
fiberglass/epoxy/carbon fiber fabricating in the high end racing yacht
arena.
So if anyone wants to do something like maybe to put a Swan yacht style
custom interior in their Gold Plated Go Westie Syncro and make it from foam
cored teak and carbon fiber...I can do stuff like that...or 'nice' stuff
that won't be cheap but will fit perfectly and be attractive, functional,
light and durable...
Just an idea and sorry for the blatant spam post. I've seen other mild
spams on list, so I am guessing a one time vanagon specific spam might be
ok..and it may be Friday by the time this gets on the list..
You can see some of my work below...Sorry I don't have any of my yacht
portfolio on digital sources yet.
Pleasure boats are very like Vanagons except they will sink and they are
slower than a diesel NA and cost more (sometimes) than a Go Westie
Resto...grin. So this is a Vanagon specific spam..
