I took mine out and worked the bent-up end over with a pair of pliers to make it good again. I thought I would break the wire in the process but it was very tough and held up fine. The valve had gotten so difficult to move that it would have bent the wire again and again in use, so I had to replace that and I haven't had any troubles since. Someone did post a while back that you couldn't get them new anymore, don't know if that's the case but if it is it would pay to get a used one or two.
