BTW, the red buses aren't free. They are operated by a concessionaire, and the price is steep. The trip on those buses comes with geological and biological commentary from the "naturalist" driver. The free buses are operated by the park service, and are no frills. The red buses, by the way, are 1920s vintage, and were completely rebuilt a couple of years ago, after being out of service for several years.

BTW, we encountered several other Campmobiles on the trip, including one from Idaho with a set of longhorns mounted on the front. The owner and his crew camped right across from us at Sprague Creek.

At the construction area that Bob pictured we encountered a mountain goat right in the road amongst the construction equipment, casually eating some greenery growing up along the right of way. We saw lots of other mountain goats around Logan Pass and while hiking in the back country. Many bighorn sheep, too. The goats were so people tolerant that they would walk within a few feet of a person, even a nanny with a kid.
