Hi David.

Thanks for the ideas. Yes. I had thought of doing something like you suggest. Saw this type of end:

But it's the other end that could be a challenge. At rest, not much room between spring end and pivot pin for lower arm. But as per my edited subject post, that too could be addressed.

I'm putting my $ toward a gas cartridge strut system a la the EV. :)
