hi. 'tradegy' is a pretty strong word. thought someone got killed.

does sound like the Dynamic Oil Pressure System connections got damaged. which means you might be missing high and low rpm oil pressure warning, and evidently, charging warning - if the battery symbol light doesn't come on when you turn on the key.

and the oil light should flash steadily when you turn on the key ( not start the van ) .
